Diagonal girls fall in regional first round
By Larry Telply

The 2014-2015 Diagonal Maroonette girls stand together one last time prior to the first-round regional game against Lamoni. Playing perhaps their best game-of-the season, the Diagonal Maroonettes gave the Lamoni Demons all they wanted in the opening round of the girls regional tournament, dropping a 49-43 decision.

Playing the Demons on their home floor, the Maroonettes used their press to force numorous turnovers and made the game very interesting.

The girls made one-of-eight three-point shots for 13 percent, and were 12-of-18 from the line, good for 67 percent.

The Maroonettes close their season with a record of 3-18. They will say goodbye to their lone senior, Kaitlyn Klommhaus. With the core of the team returning and a good eighth grade class coming up, they already have their eyes set on next year.
