Diagonal schools welcome new principal
Diagonal Community school district has a new secondary principal in Lorna PAXTON, who was welcomed to the district at the
June meeting of the Diagonal school board. PAXTON'S hiring along with several other personnel matters and agenda items
dealing with the 2012-13 school year. PAXSON, who lives in Mount Ayr, comes to the Diagonal district after serving for
many years as an employee of the Area Education Agency in Creston. Sharing agreements with three other school districts
were also approved for the new school year. The district will be sharing the services of art teacher Diana LARSON with
Clearfield, business manager Billie Jo GREENE with East Union and two music positions with the Creston schools. These
are vocal teacher Mary LANGE and instrumental music teacher Pat OSWALD. Newly hired at the meeting were Brandi COLE as
secondary math teacher, Kendra RUBY as pre-school associate, Kristy JARRED as school nurse and Shelly WIMER for Sites For
Learning. Superintendent Karleen STEPHENS noted that the SFL enrollment in Diagonal this summer is around 30 students.
