Michelle Snook, senior at Grand Valley, was the 1989-1990 State F.H.A. Secretary-Treasurer. She was elected
at the 1989 state meeting and participated in the 1990 meeting. To become a state officer, Michelle had to give a one-minute
speech and then answer impromptu questions in front of over 300 people. After being elected and attending a leadership camp,
Michelle and the other officers attended the National F.H.A. Meeting in Anaheim, CA. While they were there they also visited Disneyland.
After a year of hard work and lots of planning, Michelle turned her office over to a newly elected officer.

A senior with high honors is Rick Vanderflught. Rick participated in the National F.F.A. Band this fall
at the F.F.A. National Convention. Rick was also a member of the F.F.A. State Band and worked his way up from there.
To qualify in the band, Rick had to have a letter of recommendation from his band director, play in the state band,a nd send a
tape of scales to the National Director. The director then chose the members of this elite band. Rick was in Kansas City
for four days prior to the National Convention rehearsing for the program. We are proud of Rick for receiving such a high
honor.
