GRAND VALLEY COMMUNITY SCHOOL
Tracy Lesan has been selected as a University of Northern Iowa Presidential Scholar. This prestigious award is received by only
fifteen high school seniors. Applicants for the scholarship were chosen according to their ACT scores, class rank and
their written essays. The finalists were then selected from an additional essay and an interview conducted at the University
by the Presidential Scholars Board. The Presidential Scholarship will provide Tracy with financial support equal to the
current tuition and room and board rates and will be automatically renewable at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar
Falls for four years. Everyone at Grand Valley Schools is extremely proud of your, Tracy! CONGRATULATIONS!!

Jennifer Hullinger was elected to serve as State Secretary/Treasurer for the 1986-87 school year by the Iowa delegation at the State
FHA meeting. She was one of the eighteen girls in competition for an office. She presented a speech entitled "The Magic of
FHA." Along with the speech she did a magic trick that "sparked" up her day. It is an honor to be an officer because only
seven are chosen. They decide among themselves who is qualified for the particular offices. Congratulations, Jennifer!
