Weehler qualifies for rodeo nationals
Riley Weeher qualified for nationals as the Iowa Calf Roping Champion and Team Roping Reserve Champion
during the Iowa High School Rodeo Association state finals held in Waterloo at the National Cattle Congress on June 6, 7,
and 8.Mount Ayr Community School participants were Ashton Johnson, Kaci Stackhouse and Kirsten Dolecheck.P>There are
10 qualifying rodeos before the state finals. The top four contestants in each event earn a spot on the Iowa team to
travel to Rock Springs, WY to compete at nationals July 13-19. Ashton Johnson ended the season sixth in breakaway
roping and seventh in goat tying. Kaci Stackhouse placed 10th in barrel racing and seventh in pole bending. Kirsten
Dolecheck finished 15th in goat tying and 23rd in barrel racing.
