Alvin L. VARNER of Centerville was recently named to the position of district manager of the Iowa Southern
Utilities Company's eastern district. An employee of the company for 28 years, VARNER originally joined
Iowa Southern at Mount Ayr in 1940. He is the son of Mrs. O. C. VARNER of Clearfield and the late "Pop"
VARNER. He and his family reside in Burlington.
