It was moving day at Smith Oil on the east side of Mount Ayr Tuesday. According to store manager Tasha Drake, the
existing canopy will be moved to the east side of the building where new diesel pumps will be placed. A new
canopy will be built that will cover the existing gas pumps on the north side of the building.
Thursday, August 21, 2014 ~ Correction:
In last week's Record-News, on a caption of a photo on the front page of
Smith Oil Company moving their gas canopy, it was reported the new canopy to be installed would shelter the current
gasoline pumps.
That is incorrect. According to Smith Oil, new gas pumps also will be installed under the new
canopy. The existing pumps will be taken out.
The Record-News regrets the error.
