A southwest Iowa woman who thought she'd won a classic car from Lakeside Casino in Osceola says the car's caused one headache after another. Debbie SHIELDS of Diagonal won a 1963 Chevrolet Nova, but she says she noticed problems almost from the moment she saw the car. SHIELDS says the car was delivered to her home, and the delivery man told her it had carburator problems. Then, she noticed the accelerator was damaged. SHIELDS says Bob Brown Chevrolet in Des Moines, the dealership that sold the car to Lakeside, has offered her a new car. SHIELDS says Lakeside paid $17,500 for the car, and she's not going to accept anything less. The casino has offered her $10,000 dollars cash, which she has also refused.

SHIELDS says she spent a thousand dollars to get an appraisal, and has even been to the doctor because she's so stressed out. She's written a letter to the Attorney General with details of the saga.

SHIELDS, who says she went ot the casino almost everyday, has been banned from returning to the Lakeside Casino. She says they told her the ban was because of her conduct, even though she says she didn't talk about the car much. She says she got banned anyway and should have been irate.

SHIELDS says there are all sorts of problems with the vintage Nova. She says there are chips in the paint, and bubbles of rust underneath the paint job. In addition, she says the heater doesn't work and the car blows black smoke when the engine does turn over.
