Mr. and Mrs. Roberts Married Fifty Years
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar ROBERTS, who reside three and one-half miles south of Ellston, had the distinction of celebrating
their golden wedding anniversary in the same home established fifty years ago following their marriage, and which they
have since occupied. On the occasion of their anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. ROBERTS held open house Sunday, September 12,
during which one hundred and twenty-six friends and relatives called to extend congratulations and best wishes. The honored
couple was the recipient of many lovely gifts. The table, from which the guests were served refreshments, was attractively
decorated with yellow chrysanthemums. The wedding cake was cut and served by Mrs. Cleo FOUSER and Mrs. Ethel WOOLLUMS and
Mrs. Donald ALLEN and Mrs. Marvin WOOLLUMS poured. The guest book was in charge of Ruth BEEDE, and pictures were taken
by Mary McBEE, of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Marvin WOOLLUMS. Miss Nettie STEPHENS and Oscar ROBERTS were united in
marriage September 14, 1904, in the home of the bride's parents near Delphos, by the Rev. Ora CAMPBELL. They are the
parents of four children - three daughters, Mrs. Ella BEEDE, Mrs. Zelma WOOLLUMS and Mrs. Lena CLARK, and one son,
Lee ROBERTS. They also include in their family circle twelve grandchildren, all of whom were present for the occasion
except one, Arvid WOOLLUMS, who is stationed with the marines at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
