"Asa RAINS, Diagonal, IA, who is 90 years old, has a 1910 Model Hupmobile auto which he still drives.
The car has a right-hand drive, no fan belt,and no battery. Mr. RAINS has all but two of the license plates that have
been used on the car."
Asa Shin RAINS, the son of Allen RAINS (1809-1901) and Mary Elizabeth (HARDMAN) RAINS (1814-1854), was
born January 1, 1851, near Pendleton of Madison County, Indiana. He married Rachel MILLSAP (1856-1927) on
November 27, 1874, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa. Asa died at the age of 99 on April 8, 1950, Benton,
Ringgold County, Iowa.
