Card shower planned for golden anniversary here

Ellen and Jake POWELL, Kathy WITTMANN and Vicki PRENTIS wish to announce the 50th wedding anniversary of their parents, Dick and Marj PRENTIS.

The honored couple was married Aug. 2, 1942, at Calvary Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. Dick and Marj met in Washington where they were employed by the war communicatin department. Capt. and Mrs. Richard (Anne) WITTMANN were their witnesses, and a reception was held after the ceremony at the WITTMANN home.

Dick and Marj have been blessed with five grandchildren, Randy and Ruth GREGG, Chandra GREGG, Christy, Curtis and Michael WITTMANN and one great-grandchild, Ryan GREGG.

NOTE: Richard Tennant PRENTIS, son of X. T. and Victoria "Gladys" (TENNANT) PRENTIS, was born on January 3, 1922, Mount Ayr, Iowa, and died on August 28, 1997, Mount Ayr. Marjorie Ellen "Marj" (WEBB) PRENTIS, the daughter of Finis David and Verna Lou (BARRETT) WEBB, was born March 2, 1920, Clayton, Union County, New Mexico, and died July 2, 2004, Mount Ayr. They were interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
