Honored for years of service
Max Mekus, DVM, is presented a certificate for Ringgold County Public Health director Becky Fletchall, recognizing his
retirement after 26 years of service on the Board of Health. All board members are volunteers appointed by the county board of supervisors per
Iowa Code Chapter 137. They have jurisdiction over public health matters in the county with duties that include enforcement of local and state
health laws. The board must consist of five people, one of whom must be a physician. Current members include Bruce Ricker, DO, Raydeen Dersheid, ARNP, Melissa
Friedrich, CRNA, and Darla Sobotka, PA. Keith Miller, DVM, has recently been appointed to replace Dr. Mekus.
