Terry receives Pittsburgh award for teaching
Dr. Martha TERRY, professor at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA, received the Craig Award at the
university's graduation May 1. The Craig Award is given annually to a teacher in the graduate schools of public health.
Each year students nominate professors and the nominations are read and voted on by a committee of past Craig winners
and students from each department. There are seven departments in the school. The winner receives a plaque and $5,000
to be used in the department in which the recipient teaches. TERRY plans to use the money for research. TERRY was also
honored by being inducted into Delta Omega, an honor society for public health practitioners, faculty and students.
TERRY is a 1969 graduate of Mount Ayr Community high school. She is the daughter of Helen TERRY of Mount Ayr and Jack
TERRY of Missouri.
