Horse breaks $100,000 mark

Viva Blaylock wins another race for Al Clough of Sun Valley Lake

The thoroughbred racing season has ended at Prairie Meadows Race Track in Altoona and Al CLOUGH of Sun Valley Lake had a personal record when his five-year-old mare Viva Blalock became his first horse to pass $100,000 in life-time earnings.

His previous best had been Miss Homebuilder, who had earned $94,000 in two years before getting knee chips.

On August 5, Viva Blalock won the one and one-sixteenth mile race at Prairie Meadows in one minute and 48 seconds to earn a purse of $13,500 that put her over the $100,000 mark.
