Cavender ~ Neas

The Immaculate Conception church in Maloy was the setting April 10 for the Wedding of Miss Dorlee CAVENDER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George CAVENDER, of Maloy, and Jerry Dean NEAS, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pearl B. NEAS, of Redding.

The simple but impressive double-ring ceremony was solemized at 10:30 o'clock with the Rev. M. J. CULHANE officiating.

The altar rail was decorated with baskets of white carnations. Nuptial music was proviced by Mrs. Maurice CARR.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a ballerina-length gown of white chiffon over net and taffeta. The lace bodice featured a slightly scooped neckline and an empire waist and fintertip veil of illusion net was held in place by a pearl band studded with rhinestones. Her only jewelry was a double strand of pearls, a gift of the groom. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and pink miniature roses, tied with white satin streamers.

The maid of honor, Mary SAND, and bridesmaid, Shirley COMER, were attired in blue street-length dresses with white accessories. Each wore a corsage of blue and white carnations.

James NEAS served his brother as best man; Gordon PARKER attended as groomsman and Gene CULVER was the usher.

For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. CAVENDER chose a black and white sheath with a black duster. The mother of the groom wroe a two-piece navy dress. Each wore a corsage of blue and white carnations.

Following the ceremony a dinner was served at Berning's Cafe in Creston with approximately forty guests in attendance.

After dinner, the bride and groom, assisted by Miss SAND and Miss COMER, opened and displayed their gifts.

For her going away attire, the new Mrs. NEAS chose an apricot ensemble with black patent accessories.

The bride, a 1957 graduate of the Mount Ayr high school, is employed by the Iowa Medical Service in Des Moines.

The groom who graduated in 1956 from the Redding high school, is presently employed by Braniff Airways in Des Moines.

Following a short wedding trip the couple will be at home at 675 18th St. , Des Moines.
