Man Injuried in Ringgold County Buggy Accident
A truck rear-ended a horse and buggy this morning, smashing it into pieces. The accident happened around 8:00 a.m. on
Highway 169 in Ringgold County, about six miles south of Mount Ayr. The Iowa State Patrol says a truck driving down a
hill hit the buggy from behind. One person was in the buggy at the time. The man, who is in his 20's, was air-lifted to
the hospital with extensive injuries. The horse was killed. Authorities say the road was clear of snow and ice when
the crash happened. So far, no names have been released.
