Assault charges filed against two Kellerton men
A Kellerton man was in jail on $1 million bond this week -- one of two men charged with assault in an incident Monday, June
21, at 9:18 p.m. at the Steven KEPHART residence southeast of Mount Ayr. Judd Corbly BOWEN, 37, was in jail on the $1
million bond after being charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, going armed with intent, assault while participating
in felony and first-degree harassment. Steven Gail FLETCHER, 57, was charged with willful injury, assault while participating
in a felony and first degree harassment. FLETCHER was released on $10,000 bond. According to the Ringgold county sheriff's
office, officers arrived at the KEPHART residence to find that Steven KEPHART and his brother, David KEPHART, visiting
from California, had been assaulted causing bodily injuries. Both were hospitalized following the incident. There was
an allegation that a deadly weapon was displayed during the fight. Specifically, BOWEN alledgedly pointed an AR-15
assault rifle at David KEPHART'S head and threatened to kill him. At least one shot was fired, however, no one was hit
by a bullet. The incident is still under investigation and additional charges may be pending, according to the sheriff's
