Arneals' Golden Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. R. B. ARNEAL entertained Tuesday of last week in their home in Mount Ayr on the occasion of their golden
wedding anniversary. Open House was held in the afternoon and evening and approximately 150 persons signed the guest book.
A number of congratulatory calls from friends and relatives were also received during the day. The table from which
refreshements of wedding cake, baked and beautifully decorated by Mrs. John STUCK of Mount Ayr, nuts, mints, punch and
coffee were served, was laid with a cloth crocheted by Mrs. ARNEAL. A centerpiece of golden flowers made by Mrs. Inez
WIAND, of Lenox, was arranged in a dish, a wedding gift received by the ARNEALS fifty years ago. Although the honored
couple had requested no gifts, they were kindly remembered with many lovely flowers, potted plants and gifts.
Long distance calls were received from Dr. John F. ARNEAL, of Baltimore, Md., brother of Mr. ARNEAL, W. C. ARNEAL of
Edgerton, Wis., and the Rev. Lloyd E. SHAW, of Clay Center, Kan., a former pastor of the local United Presbyterian Church.
Out-of-town guests who attended the Open House were Mr. and Mrs. James A. ARNEAL, Stevie and Janet, of North Bend, Neb.,
Mrs. Blanche ROWLANDS and Mrs. Edna ARNEAL, of Edgerton, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. C. R. TERRYBERRY, of Westboro, Mo., Mr. and
Mrs. Stuart W. HOOVER, of Denver, Colo., and Mr. and Mrs. C. C. HOOD, of Parnell, Mo.
Married in Redding
Robert Bruce ARNEAL, son of T. A. ARNEAL, of Redding, and Grace Edna BRYAN, daughter of the H. S. BRYANS, of Redding,
were united in marriage December 2, in the United Presbyterian parsonage in Redding. The ceremony was performed by the Rev.
Walter J. STEWART, who has retired from the ministry and resides in Washington. Mr. and Mrs. ARNEAL started
housekeeping on a farm in Clinton township and have spent their entire married life in Ringgold county.
