AREA STUDENTS PLACE IN
SWCC ART FAIR, APRIL 20
Several Diagonal and Grand Valley art students had winning entries at the Southwestern Community College art
fair exhibit which was held April 20 in Creston. There were eight art categories students could enter -- painting,
drawing, print making, photographic, ceramics, sculpture, weaving, and commercial art. First, second and third
places were awarded in each category. Patty BULLOCK, an Art II student at Grand Valley Community School,
received first place in the painting competition at the contest. Jacque MILLER, another Art II student, received
honorable mention for a print in the print making competition. Eddie ALLEE, a student at Diagonal
Community High School, won first place in the print making competition. Other Diagonal students with placings

drawing
Shane AUSTIN, third, weaving Students from Bedford, East Union, Orient-Macksburg, Villisca and Murray participated in the
contest and student workshop along with the Grand Valley and Diagonal students.
