HULLEY is the daughter of Lucy and the late Ellis MAUDLIN.

The Patricia BEHRING Teacher of the Year award recognizes outstanding National History Day teachers. Two state winners, one at both the junior level and senior level, were selected. Each state winner will be awarded $500.

The selection criteria includes a minimum of five years' classroom experience with National History a documented commitment to student-led historical research and evidence of creativity in the classroom that exceeds expected participation in National History Day.

As the winner of Missouri's award, HULLEY is now being considered for the national award and could win $10,000 if chosen for the Patricia BEHRING National Outstanding Teacher award.
