2014 Ringgold County Fair Ringgold County Fair makes another successful run
Results from the recent Ringgold County Fair are beginning to roll in.
Talent Show
Winners from the Bill Riley Talent Show at the Ringgold County Fair have been released. In the sprout division,
Jurnee Harvey won first place. Tatum Lowell came in second with the duo of Kanyon Huntington and Hannah Wisniewshi placing
third. With her second-place finish, Lowell qualifies for competition at the State Fair. The first and third place
competitors had already qualified for the State Fair at other competitions prior to the county fair. In the adult
division, Haylea England placed first and qualified for the State Fair. Ryann Martin finished second and the duo of
Miranda Merryfield and Nikki Kellow won third place.

After competing in the Ringgold County Fair, Hannah Jackson and Samantha Schaefer (L-C) advanced to state fair competition
with their educational presenation, and Haylea England qualified for state in the Share the Fun category.

Results from judging in the Open Class Competition at the Ringgold County Fair have been announced. THis year's open
class boasted a total of 390 exhibits in 20 categories.
Jerry Murphy received the "Best of Show" award for his spice cabinet entered in the craftsmanship category.

PIE AUCTIONSunday's pie auction raised a total of $3,625. Proceeds from the
auction go into the 4-H fund for projects and activities throughout the year.
LIVESTOCK AUCTIONPreliminary sales figures from the livestock auction at the Ringgold
County Fair showed a total of $39,810.24, compared to $44,912.10 raised in 2013. A total of nine head of beef cattle
were sold this year, bringing in $21,449.59. This compares to 10 head of cattle bringing in $20,374.15 in 2013. This
year there were 29 swine sold, bringing $14,186,65. This compares to 35 swine sold for $18,411.35 last year. In addition
one carcass was sold for $378. A total of six sheep were sold this year for $1,246.50. This compares with 12 sheep sold last
year for $2,560.10. The pultry sale saw 10 poultry sold for $170, compared to two sold for $55 last year. There were
eight goats sold for $1,893.50, compared to 16 goats sold for $3,143 in 2013. There were no rabbits sold this year or
last year.
MUTTON BUSTIN' RESULTS
Colby Tidman won first place in the mutton bustin' competition. Brayden Hale, Brock Shaha and Bradon Cook placed
second, third and fourth, respectively.
