Mount Ayr Community Raider junior T. J. REDDING brought home second place in the state golf meet as an individual when he
was runner-up medalist at the class 2A golf meet held in Ankeny Friday and Saturday. REDDING shot a three over par 74 the
first and a one over par 72 the second day for a total of 46, three shots behind the state champion.
Mount Ayr's Restored
Depot Museum has been named the top prize winner in the large public category in awards presented by the Iowa Historic
Preservation Alliance. The award was presented at an awards ceremony at the State Historical Building in Des Moines.
Doris RULE and Thelma and Bill RUSK attended the ceremony to receive the certificate and plaque and attend a luncheon
for all recipients held at the State Historical Building.
The city of Diagonal recently received a grant of $24,445
through the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund. The grant will provide 50 percent of the project cost to install
separate, handicap accessible men's and women's restrooms and showers and one wastewater improvement system at the
Marlin E. FOGLE Recreation Area.
Chamber members were on hand for two ribbon cuttings. The Office located at 115 N. Taylor
in Mount Ayr, re-opened its doors with a new owner, Sharon BOWEN. Ringgold County Public Health also held a ribbon cutting
at their new location, 119 South Fillmore Street in Mount Ayr.
