Members of the Topaz Lodge 438, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, of Kellerton will observe the 100th anniversary
of the lodge in a special ceremony Saturday, June 6.
Over 600 people turned out for the 25th anniversary concerts by the Ringgold Singers at the Mount Ayr Community
high school Friday and Saturday, May 25 and 26, to take a musical trip around the United States in 80 minutes.
Grand opening for Jim Jobe Chevrolet - Buick - Pontiac, Inc. is scheduled Friday, June 1, and Saturday, June 2, at
the car dealership in Mount Ayr. JOBE purchased the dealership from Andy JOHNSTON earlier this year.
Two new businesses have opened in the same building in Mount Ayr recently. The Yellow Submarine, a recreation
center, and Ringgold County Auction Company, a once-a-week consignment auction, both are housed in the same
building west of the post office on the northwest corner of the square. The Yellow Submarine offers a variety
of games from video games to pool and shuffleboard. Consignment auctions are held at the building on Friday
nights by Roger PURCELL of Davis City.
Phil and Doris KINTON will, within seven days of each other, observe the 25th anniversary of their Ordinations to the
Christian Ministry.
Awarded Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete awards at Mount Ayr Community high school this year were juniors
Clint RIGGS and Katie MONAGHAN. The awards honor both scholarship and athletic ability.
