A new phase in marketing industrial sites in Mount Ayr is underway with the development of the Pride of Iowa industrial
park. The expanded portion of the industrial park is a 76-acre site located to the north of the Mount Ayr Golf and
Country Club.
Sarah GEIST, daughter of Crae and Jodie GEIST of Mount Ayr, was installed as Worthy Advisor of Mount Ayr Assembly #160,
International Order of Rainbow for Girls in Iowa and Minnesota on Sunday, July 20, 2003.
There are 17 senior band members in the Mount Ayr high school band this year, the majority of whom have been in high
school band for four years. The senior band members include Raece NIEMAN, the drum major and flag girls, Kinda FISHER,
Lacey MEESTER, Stephanie NOBLE, Rachel SOBOTKA and Kristin WILKEY. The senior flutes include Maggie GILLILAND and Ann
RUSK. Sydney KING and Jessica ROTERT make up the seniors in the woodwind section, on alto sax and clarinet. Four year
seniors in he percussion section include Corinna STRAIGHT on the snare drum, Kevin TRULLINGER on the quads, Amber
GOLLIDAY and Elizabeth KILGORE on cymbals and Katie OSWALD on the bass drum. The first-year seniors are Danny RAY on
the bass drum and Josephine HEGER, the foreign exchange student, on the trap set. Four-year band member, Tim STORHOFF,
plays the trumpet, and has been privileged enough to be selected to go on the Iowa Ambassadors of Music European
tour this summer.
