The first community sale, under management of Glen DIXON, F.B. MALOY and Floyd S. MILLER, will be held December 5, in the new, modern sales pavilion in Mount Ayr. Sales will be held Tuesday of each week.

Otto S. HAYES, old age pension investigator for Ringgold and Taylor Counties, tendered his resignation Monday to the local board of social welfare, effective December 1. Mr. HAYES, who has served the two counties since the old age assistance plan was adopted, has accepted the position as investigator in Cass County.

Robert LESAN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn LESAN, of Mount Ayr, last week became a member of the national organization of Associated Steno-typists of America, when a charter was presented to the Des Moines chapter. Robert is taking an executive secretarial course at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines.

Bobbie JOHNSON, Mary Margaret and John HOOD and Sherry Jean GRINDSTAFF, accompanied by Mrs. Willis HOOD, went Saturday evening to Kellerton on the C.B. & Q. passenger train, which made its final run that night. Bobbie purchased the last ticket that was sold from the Mount Ayr depot. It ws the first time any of the children had ridden on a train.
