Gertrude LINK and Harold JENSEN were united in marriage May 25, in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard H. LINK. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Thomas KELLY, pastor of the Methodist Church. The groom is the son of Mrs. Agnes JENSEN, of Cedar Falls, and is employed by the Volverton Printing Compnay of Cedar Falls, in which city the couple will be at home.

P. J. McGRATH, whose commission expires June 17, was recently nominated by President Roosevelt for the position of postmaster of Mount Ayr, second class, and Friday confirmation was made by the senate. Mr. McGRATH has been postmaster for four years.

Newly elected officers of the Rebekah Lodge, District 80, are: May SAWYER, Mount Ayr, president; Roma ELLIS, Mount Ayr, secretary; and, Amanda BECK, Kellerton, treasurer.

Betty DAUGHTON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. DAUGHTON, has accepted a position in the office of the Iowa Press Association in Des Moines.

TINGLEY - W. J. WORLEY, who has been music teacher in the schools here for the last year, has accepted a position in the Gravity school for the ensuing year.

BIRTHS

  • DIAGONAL - Mr. and Mrs. Roy GRAHAM are the parents of a seven-pound daughter, born May 27.
  • Mr. and Mrs. James SPICER, of Knowlton, are the parents of a seven-pound son, born May 26.
