The Iowa Commerce Commission grain warehousing division suspended the grain buying and warehousing licenses of Jim
WEBB, owner of Iowa Grain Exchange Corp. in Mount Ayr last Wednesday. Just what the final resolution to the problems
involved in the suspension was still not clarified early this week. As of Tuesday afternoon, a spokesman for the Iowa
Commerce Commission said the investigation into the problems at Iowa Grain Exchange was still continuing and that
a hearing on the licenses would be held once the investigation is completed. Until the investigation is complete,
expected sometime this week, no grain was being allowed out of the elevator storage facilities in Mount Ayr.
Howard SHIELDS of Lamoni recently bagged a 26 pound, two ounce turkey listed in the awards by the Iowa Conservation
Commission. SHIELDS killed the turkey in Ringgold county April 17. It has a one-and one-eighth-inch spur and and 11-inch
beard.
Due to the very mild winter and early spring, clover leaf weevils and alfalfa weevils are present in unusually high numbers.
