Erwin Jezek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jezek, of this community, who until recently had been engineering assistant on a corn machinery experimental farm at Iowa State College [present day Iowa State University at Ames], has
beeb promoted to the position of junior agricultural engineer.
The Eagle Scout Patrol met Monday evening and elected the following officers: Patrol Leader, Wendall Robison; assistant patrol leader, Curtis Christiansen; scribe, Loyd Hudson; cheerleader, Bob Defenbaugh;
quartermaster, Curtis Barnett; grubmaster, Bob Allyn; hikemaster, Bob Spence; and songmaster, Bob Roe.
DIAGONAL - Newly elected officers of the Diagonal High School Alumni Association are: President, Ellis Wiley; vice-president, Melvin Newton; secretary, Annbeth Grace; and, treasurer, Maxine Vanderpluym.
DIAGONAL - Margaret Ruby went Tuesday to Chariton, where she has employment in the Montgomery Ward store.
KELLERTON - Mr. and Mrs. Ira Foster and family have moved to Adel, where they have employment.
LINCOLN - Forest Whipp received a rating of excellent on his instrumental baritone solo at the national music contest at St. Paul, MN. He competed with 35 other contestants.
BIRTHS:
NORTHWEST MONROE - Mr. and Mrs. Claiborne Padgitt are the proud parents of a daughter, Patricia Jeanette, born May 18. Weight, eight pounds.
