Raymond HARROLD recently accepted a position as traveling salesman with the Allen Manufacturing Company, with their general office in one of the eastern
cities. He sells portable bathtubs.
Ernest TENNANT has recently completed a course in "motion picture operating" under the auspices of the former operator of the Princess Theatre, Clay
STEWART. Ernest has accepted the position in the theatre made vacant by the resignation of Mr. STEWART and is proving a capable and careful operator.
Lena FRY has resigned her position in the G. A. SLENTZ store after being employed there for 16 months. Lova THOMPSON, who has had experience behind the
counter, has accepted the position made vacant by the resignation of Miss FRY.
Irene HETZEL is now regularly employed in the local telephone office, taking the place made vacant by the resignation of Mrs. Florence GUESS, who has
begun work in the main office of the Bell Telephone Company in Des Moines.
DIAGONAL - A deal was made the first of the week whereby George GRAHAM became proprietor of the east side barbershop, which was formerly owned by
Ray BIGGS and had been in charge of Henry BEVINS during Mr. BIGGS' absence. William HARTER and Electa MESSLER were married June 20, at the M.E.
Parsonage at Knowlton by the Rev. V. J. ANDREW. Mr. HARTER has been working with his grandfather, Adam SHEETS, for a year or more and is becoming well
acquainted with the carpenter trade, at which he will continue to work for some time. Arthur GRANT left Monday for Red Wing, MN., where he goes to
work for the Midland Chautauqua.
KELLERTON - The band concerts will continue every Saturday night during the summer. Orr ALLEN has been elected as band leader during the absence
of Artie ALLEN. Harry MANNING, who recently moved to his farm east of town, has also joined the band. Tom HIGGINS sold his restaurant on the
west side, Monday, to Frank BURNS and Hugh TEALE, who took possession Tuesday morning. Hugh and Guy McCULLOUGH will have charge of the business for
a while, Frank having to look after his farm until fall.

KNOWLTON - Born, to Mr. and Mrs. A. TURNBULL, June 21, a seven-pound son. Full name Grenville Everett TURNBULL.
Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Elmer POORE, June 28, a son. Ten pounds.
A daughter was born this morning, June 29, to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph KLING.
