Ringgold County and the East Fork of Grand River Watershed was the site for a water monitoring training program held last
Thursday. The Izaak Walton League has donated their resources to provide training for water quality testing. Save Our
Streams Program (SOS) used a biological monitoring approach which involves taking a "critter count" assessing their tolerance
to pollutants to determine stream health. Not many sites are chosen for this, and Ringgold county was chosen because
of the watershed project on the East Fork of the Grand River. A base reading is done on the river and readings will
continue to be monitored in the future.
