RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
February 29 & March 03, 1916

by Chanse Hall, Mount Ayr Record-News

Fire of unknown orgin practically destroyed the Logan Hotel early yesterday morning. Mr. Logan was unable to estimate the loss, but it will far exceed the $3,600 insurance carried the building and contents. Mr. Logan will probably rebuild and as a result of the fire, it is likely Mount Ayr will have a new modern hotel.

C. Raye Moore has just issued his corn book for 19167. He has the old Robbins garage fitted up for his new uptown seed house and is shipping out seed and oats to customers' every day.

Word has been received by relatives in Mount Ayr of the marriage of Elva Grace Thompson to Ernest Otto Phillippe at Valley City, ND., on February 19. The bride, the daughter of B. H. Thompson of this city, went to North Dakota about three years ago, where she has been successful in her work as a school teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Phillippe will make their home on a farm north of Wimbleton, ND.

Dakota Corll, who had been employed at the county farm for some time, has resigned and returned to her home in Kellerton.
