One hundred sixty-four Model T Fords were registered in Ringgold County during 1939, according to Frances
STALCUP, who is in charge of the registration department in the office of County Treasurer Earl T. HOOVER.
Miss STALCUP estimates that at least that many Model T cars are in storage. The oldest one registered is
owned by A.H. GEIST of Ellston, who is 93 years of age.
Several political appointments effective the first of October were announced this week. Doyle ANDREW
waas appointed foreman at the local state highway maintenance yard and Leslie E. THOMPSON, Roy DAILEY
and Jesse SKINNER were given positions with the maintenance department. J.H. DICKENS, former postmaster
at Diagonal, has been appointed to a position with the state liquor control division.
STUDENT AYR -- A new group, the boys' glee club, has been organized this year, under the direction of
Miss HALL. Members are Robert McCREARY, Walter HUGGINS, Lyle GOLDNER, Donald RICHMOND, Ralph WATSON, Donald
KIDNEY, Bob SPENCE, Raymond STUART, Weldon SANDAGE, John LEWIS, Howard McNEARNEY, Dick McFARLAND, Burnett
SHELDON, Junior SCHARDEIN, Richard NEWMAN, Lyle DULANY, Bob SHELDON, Francis DICKERSON, Robert SALTZMAN, Dick JOHNSON
and George MOFFATT.
KELLERTON -- Ted DUFFIELD went recently to Des Moines to take up his new work as elevator boy in
the Lutheran Hospital.
