During the eighth grade commencement exercises, R. E. WILSON, junior high principal, announced the honor roll of those who had received the highest average in all sumbjects for the last two years - Helen Betty BLISS, first; Ramona FOSTER, second; and Lucille SIPLE, third.

Diagonal - Raleigh STEPHENS was recently appointed assistant postmaster here. Mrs. Joseph DICKENS formerly served her husband as assistant.

Bernadine DOWNIE and Anne WHITE will service as student assistants in the department of physical education at Simpson College next year.

Benton School News - The third and fourth grades will present the operetta "Peter Rabbit" on the last day of school. The cast of characters includes Eugene CROSS, Donald DILLENBURG, Bernice Pauline JONES, Herbie DILLENBURG, Esther BEAL, C. H. DENHART, Iris SCHLAPIA, Ethel STILL, Joe DALTON, Merle BUTLER, Lowell SCHLAPIA, Harley Vance COMBS, Thelma SCHLAPIA, Burl MOBLEY, Robert MILLER, Lucenia STILL, LaVerne NOVAK, Francis SCHLAPIA, Richard CAMPBELL, Robert KIMBERLING, Bobby NOVAK, J. Diagonal School News - Members of the 1931 senior class are Mary CRAWFORD, valedictorian; Ruth WROUGHTON, salutatorian; Ruth DORFF, Vera GOODALE, Fern GRAHAM, Rosalie SLAVIK, Genevieve STEPHENS, Gladys TAYLOR, Lester IBBOTSON, Clifford KING, Robert DINKEL, Donovan McMANUS, Ivan PRICE, John VARNER and Millard STEPHENS.

Ellston School News - L. J. WILSON, superintendent of the Ellston school, reports that the school placed first in the Iowa Academic Contest, winning in classes B, C, and D, which included schools with an enrollment under 400. Edwin MORLAN also won the individual championship in English corrections from Grade 10.
