George MURROW suffered a stroke following a motorcycle accident in 1983 that left him hospitalized for two months along with limited speech and ability
to move one side of his body, however, he can move both hands. George visited Easter Seals and Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation programs where they
trained him to weave. MURROW now makes rugs and other items with his loom at their house overlooking Sun Valley Lake.
Cecil and Becky DOLECHECK of rural Kellerton won the Mount Ayr Gold and Country Club's couples best shot tournament. The DOLECHECKS won the first
flight of the tournament in which 41 couples participated by carding a 69.
Rain gave the Mount Ayr Community Raiderettes only one game this past week, and that one was shortened because of lightning. The Raiderettes picked up
their ninth win of the season and remained unbeaten in the conference at 4-0 with an 8-2 victory over Central Decatur in five innings there Tuesday,
June 19.
