Herbie BASTOW and Jeane BLACK are valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the 1965 Mount Ayr Community High School's senior class of 116 students.

Three students of the Mount Ayr Community High School, Donnie ADAMS, Danny COULSON and Dennis MILLER, have completed their high school careers with four years of perfect attendance.

Bruce HENDERSON, Duane MILLER and Kent HUNT participated in the Class A state track meet Saturday in Des Moines. MILLER was sixth in the broad jump and 880. MILLER and HENDERSON set new records for their school throughout the season. MILLER in the board jump and 880, and HENDERSON in the pole vault.
