Mount Ayr softball coach Mark Larsen achieved his 500th career victory last Tuesday night as his Raiderettes downed East Union, 10-0.
The railroad depot, located on North Taylor Street, was built around the turn of the century [1916]. Several people interested in seeing this bit of history preserved for the people of Ringgold County have begun a project
to purchase and restore the depot. Several possibilities exist for uses of the building once it is restored. A couple of suggestions that have been mentioned are a museum or a meeting place for some organizations.
A Diagonal man will be among ten Iowa farmers visiting Hungary in the coming weeks. John Priest will share his expertise and experience in free-market agriculture as part of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation project.
