The Ringgold County Department of Social Welfare reports success for the first full quarter of the food stamp program has been in operation, reports Larry L. Brown, acting director. Welfare officials report 169 persons are participating monthly, representing 70 households.
James L. Daughton of Kellerton has been named to the three-man board of the Ringgold County Farmers Home Administration.
Stephen Dennis, of Mount Ayr, has been awarded a flock of purebred Hampshire sheep by the Sears Foundation, according to an announcement by R.E. Hauptmann, vocational agriculture instructor and F.F.A. chapter advisor of the local high school.
