The Mount Ayr Raiders, trailing most of the first two quarters, stormed back in the second half to subdue the strong Bedford Bulldogs, 51045, to win the boys sectional basketball tournament Saturday night in Mount Ayr.

The rambling Mount Ayr Raiders made the Red Oak Tigers their 22nd victim, 50-47, in the first round of the district tournament at Creston Monday night.

Mrs. Hazel BEAMER, formerly of Tingley, who resides in Laura, IL, was seriously injured in a car accident which happened Monday evening near Laura. The car driven by Mrs. BEAMER skidded in the mud and hit a tree. She suffered five fractured ribs, a fractured pelvis and internal injuries and is in a critical condition in the Saint Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL.
