Ed and Pat Carr, managers of the Chevrolet Company in Bedford, have sold the agency to Carl Sorenson, of Ames. The sale was due to the Selective Service Act, which makes both the former managers eligible for army duty
and subject to call any times. Possession will be given March 1, with Mr. Sorenson assuming person [in] charge of the Bedford Company. Ed and Pat are brothers of E. E. Carr, owner of the Carr Chevrolet Company
in Mount Ayr.
NORTHWEST MONORE - During the meeting of the Friendship club held Thursday in the home of Mrs. Vern Allen, the following officers were elected: President, Mrs. Louise Waller; vice-president, Mrs. Ethel Treichler;
and secretary-treasurer. Mrs. Lois Hammond.
BIRTHS:
BEACONSFIELD - Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McConnell on February 22, a son.
