Mount Ayr Record-News

Most of the fixtures of the local [old Mount Ayr] post office, including parcel post, money order and general delivery windows, a section of lock boxes, screen and writing desk, will be removed to Kellerton post office. The remaining fixtures and property owned by the government will be shipped to various places designated in the instruction.

Six 4-H club boys have baby beeves entered for competition in the Interstate Baby Beef and Pig Club Show to be held October 1, 2, and 3 in St. Joseph, MO. They are Cleo LYNCH, Rex LESAN, Kenneth CLOUGH, Marvin SOBOTKA, Robert LYNCH and Richard BUCK.

Velda GRAY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John GRAY, of this city, and Joy ARNOLD, of Lenox, were united in marriage September 18, in the home of the bride's parents, the single-ring ceremony being performed by the Rev. E. F. HAGEE, pastor of the Lenox Christian Church. Since her graduation from the Mount Ayr High School in 1932 the bride has been employed in the long distance telephone office in Mount Ayr. Mr. ARNOLD recently purchased the undertaking parlor in Corning, where he and his bride will make their home.

Josephine KATER left recently for Newcastle, IN, where she will soon begin her duties as assistant to Mrs. Katharine BALDRIDGE, cooking school lecturer associated with the New York Service Corporation, New York City. The cooking schools will be held in the eastern and southern states.
