Nine persons received a total of $145 in cash prizes Tuesday afternoon during the final holiday drawing conducted by the retail committee of the Mount Ayr Businessmen's Club. Winners of this week's cash were Mildred SOBOTKA, $50; Mrs. John MICHAEL, $25; Jerry KLEJCH, $10; and, Mrs. Clarence WOOD. Alice DILLENBURG and P. J. ANDREWS, $5 each.

Top honors in the 12th annual Christmas decorations contest, sponsored by the Mount Ayr Lions Club, were won by Mr. and Mrs. Rollin NOBLE, 601 East Jefferson Street.

Dan CUNNING, a member of the class of 1957, was elected president of the Mount Ayr Alumni Association during the organization's annual banquet and dance Saturday evening at the school gymnasium. Other officers elected were Earl KELLY, of Redding, vice president, and Mrs. Bill PRITCHARD, secretary-treasurer.

James D. DENHART is one of 72 students at Iowa State University, Ames, recently awarded Merit and Alumni Achievement Scholarships, which covers fees for the winter and spring quarters. DENHART, son of the Doyle DENHARTS of Mount Ayr, is a veterinary medicine student at the university.
