Five entries qualify for state large group speech at districts. The Mount Ayr Community and Diagonal Community high school speech teams fared well when they took part in the large group speech contest at Hoover high school in Des Moines.
A new book has been published about memories of growing up on a Ringgold county farm and author Kay Sickels Mosier will be visiting Mount Ayr Public Library Friday, January 26 for a book signing.
Revisions to the 28E sharing agreement between the agencies that form the Gooseberry Lake Agency and a resolution for lease and rental of acquired lands were discussed when the Gooseberry Lake Agency board held its January meeting Thursday.
Three Raiders placed in the John J. Harris invitiational wrestling tournament in Corning Friday and Saturday. Logn Larsen placed second at 130 pounds, Dylan Lane place fourth in the 285 pounds division and Weston Pierschbacher took fifth at the 103 pounds class.
