Ringgold county law enforcement officials are investigating whether a bizarre series of incidents at Mount Ayr Community high school may be linked to a fire Friday at the school that did damage that may cost as much as
$30,000 to repair. The fire in the prop room behind the stage did as much smoke damage as it did damage to materials actually burned, but it sent law enforcement officicals scrambling to try to stop the series of events of
vandalism.
Four students received teh state FFA degree, two contest entries received gold medal ratings, advisor Jack Cook received the honorary FFA degree and superintendent Phil Burmeister received the distinguised service award.
Nathan Smith of Mount Ayr has earned a position at the state Citizen Bee finals to be held April 27 in Johnston at the Iowa Public Television Studios.
