Mount Ayr Cub Scouts, Pack 11, met the Maryville, Missouri Cubs July 18, on the latter's diamond, and the [ball] game ended in a 29-29 tie.
Two teachers have been employed to fill the vacancies caused by the resignation of two instructors in the Mount Ayr High School. Sidney Cider, of Tarkio, MO., will teach algebra and bookeeping and serve as assistant
coach. Elizabeth Hasson, of College Springs, will serve as English instructor and girls' physical education director.
Harold Golliday went Sunday to Milford, where he is attending a welding school.
The Rev. F. J. Kohler, of Webb, succeeds Mr. T. H. Boggess as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Mount Ayr.
Eighteen states were represented by 836 residents and former residents of Ringgold County at the fifth annual Old Timers Reunion held Thursday in Mount Ayr. The attendance record exceeds that of a year ago by 71.
BIRTHS:
CLEARFIELD - Dr. and Mrs. Ed Grossman, of Orange City, are the parents of a daughter, Deanna M. Weight, five pounds.
CROWN POINT - Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Pine are the parents of a baby daughter, born July 21.
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Smith are the parents of a baby girl, Karolyn Jean, born July 19. Weight, six pounds.
