Mrs. C. R. TRIMBLE, of Mount Ayr, will compete with 300 other Iowa women for the speed crocheting championship of
Iowa at the Iowa State Fair. This will be the first crochet race ever held in Iowa nd has attracted statewide attention.
George KIDNEY was selected as driver of the new Mount Ayr school bus at a recent meeting of the school board. His
salary will be $30 per month. Fourteen applications were filed for the position and the lowest bid submitted was
$26 per month.
Postmaster P. J. McGRATH has recieved a set of drawing and specificiation for Mount Ayr's new $75,000 post office, which
will be built on the northwest corner of the square and announces that the work of razing the old structures on the
site will be commenced next month.
Maxine BIRD, a student at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, has again been elected as a member of the
International Honor Society for Business Education. Miss BIRD won the honor by typing for ten minutes at the speed
of 99 words a minute with five errors.
