Emily Nicholas, of Clear Lake, Miss Iowa 2006, visited the Mount Ayr Community schools recently as part of her platform on Character Counts. Ron Scott met Nicholas at a Character Counts meeting and invited her to visit the school district here.

Blake Michelsen, a Mount Ayr Community high school sophomore, will be part of a duck hunting group featured on KCCI-TV's Ultimate Outdoors program Saturday, November 25. The programs was filmed when Michelsen was duck hunting with his father, Brian Michelsen, and a group of hunters at Lake Red Rock in September.

Born, a son to Heather Garber and Rocky Baker.
