Sackett and Bellamy have formed a partnership and will engage in the farm implement business in Mount Ayr, occupying the storeroom recently vacated by John Wall & Son, who moved to the Huggins building on the northwest corner of the square.

A delightful Victrola grand opera concert was given by Mrs. Tedford at her home yesterday afternoon. The favorties from "Rigoletto" were given, while the synopsis of the opera was read by Mrs. Sam Spurrier.

W. D. Link recently purchased a garage in Blockton and is giving his full time to the business.

Orville Harris went to Des Moines yesterday to take charge of his work, having secured a position with an electrical company.

Members of the 1916 graduating class of the Mount Ayr High School are Eva Wood, Minnie Robinson, Harry Spurrier, Ernest Tennant, Earl Horne, Raymond Harrold, Murice White, Mamie Main, Ferne Garard, Arthur Keating, Mary Buck, Lucy Kidney (salutatorian), Roe Main, Vere Wallace, Birdice King, Earl Stuck, Emma Lepley, Georgia Beatrice Hannelly, Ava Wallace, Ruth Johnston, Bessie Stuck, Alice Wyler, Helen Gleason (valedictorian) and Bernice Moore.

Summer school will begin May 29 in Mount Ayr and continue for five weeks. Instructors and the branches they will teach are: Prof. W. H. Fasold, manual training, history, didactics and economics; N. E. Schupback, physics, civics, geography and agriculture; F. W. Vorhies, arithmetic and algebra; Mary Marschall, domestic science, sewing and physiology; Vera D. Hart, penmanship, drawing and music; and Mrs. F. W. Borhies, primary methods, reading and orthography.

DIAGONAL - Commencement exercises were held May 19, at the high school auditorium for eleven graduates - Francis Taylor, Minnie Reynolds, Retha Johnson, Vera Jessup, Maye Brown, Clara Bonebrake, Crystal Wright, Fay Pine, Harry Chitteden, Max Payne and Ray Bailey.

KELLERTON - Newly elected officers of the Village Improvement Society are Mrs. I. L. Crew, president; Mrs. J. L. Woollums, vice-president; Mrs. B. F. Rodgers, secretary; Mrs. Burham, treasurer; the mesdames Burham Sidewall, Rodgers and Ervin, flower committee; and the mesdames McCullough and Treichler, finance committee.

SALEM - The following, who took the rural examinations, received their diplomas last week: Glenn Myers, Susie Heasley, Stella Pyle and Florence Bush.
