RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, March 23, 2006

by Chanse Hall, Mount Ayr Record-News

A total of 40 band members from the Mount Ayr Community school district will perform at the Magic Kingdom and visit other Disney World parks during a spring break trip to Florida.

Discussion on handling the funds from the $300,000 donation to the city of Diagonal to the Fogle Lake Recreation Area, an update on fund-raising for the Bridge On The Move project, approval of the budget and naming a new city clerk were all part of the business of the Diagonal city council at its March meeting.

Lance Brown was chosen to the All-Conference first team basketball team. Joe Catanzareti, Brian Inloes, Grant Larson and Zach Lynch were names to the Pride of Iowa academic all-conference team as well.

Scott Giles of Mount Ayr and his referring partner Brad Baker were officials for one game during the girls tournament and two games during the boys tournament including the Class 2A Championship game where Nodaway Valley won a state championship.
