The Mount Ayr Raiders won their ninth game of the season Tuesday evening as they walloped Corydon, 99-39, on the local floor.
Mr. and Mrs. Percy SKINNER won first place honors in the outdoor Christmas decorating contest sponsored by the Mount Ayr
Lions Club. The judges awarded second place to Marcia DALBEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. DALBEY, and Mr. and Mrs.
F. B. MALOY ranked third.
Charles HARVEY of the Harvey Brothers Garage returned Thursday from Palm Beach, FL. where he joined 400 Oldsmobile executives,
dealers and salesmen from all parts of the United States in a gala four-day program of fun, sports and sunshine activities.
Mr. HARVEY was one of six Iowa Oldsmobile dealers who won expense-paid trips on sales production records in competition with
fellow executives throughout the country.
State award certificates for acts of heroism and lifesaving will be presented to two youth from Mount Ayr this (Thursday)
afternoon, at 1 p.m., in the courthouse. Recipients of the awards will be Norma Kay and John SNEDEKER, daughter and son of
Mr. and Mrs. D. H. SNEDEKER of this city. The youth were credited with saving the life of Lyle MAIN, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Orville MAIN of Mount Ayr, after he was accidentally shot while hunting Oct. 31 of last year.
Mr. and Mrs. E. C NICHOLS will observe the 60th anniversary of their marriage Sunday, Jan. 2, at their home in Mount Ayr.
