Grant L. HAYES went to Humeston Tuesday evening where he played with the Humeston concert band on their booster trip over the county the last of the
week. Grant plays solo clarinet and is more than the average bandman.
T. L. TULLIS will run an auto hack between Mount Ayr and Benton, beginning Saturday morning, and will meet all trains on the Great Western. The fare will
be $1.
A. Vere WALLACE, of this city, has recently been appointed district manager for the Fuller Brush Company of Hartford, CT, with which company he has been
employed as local agent for some time, both here and in Kansas, his former home.
During the Ringgold County Sunday School Convention at the United Presbyterian Church held Thursday and Friday, the following officers were elected:
President, Hon. J. A. BLISS, Diagonal; vice-president, W. B. BUCK; secrectary-treasurer, Mrs. G. A. TENNANT; press reporter, Rev. W. E. DARROW; executive committee
officers, Clinton J. LEWIS, Albert ALLEN, Tingley, Mrs. Mary E. TEALE, Kellerton, Rev. R. M. SHIPMAN and Rev. A. M. EASTMAN, Redding.
DIAGONAL - Merle LEIBIG left last week for Moline, IL., where he goes to work in an automobile factory. Word comes to us of the marriage of Mary MILLER,
one of this year's graduates from our high school, to George FLEMING, of Arispe. The wedding took place at Des Moines on Tuesday afternoon of last week.
Mr. FLEMING is a traveling salesman for a company in Des Moines.
SHANNON CITY - On June 18, a special election was held of the consolidated independent school district of Shannon City, Union and Ringgold counties, Iowa,
to issue a bond not to exceed $20,000 for the purpose of constructing and equipping a school building. The vote carried in favor of the bonds: 127 for and
30 against.

LESANVILLE - Born, June 12, to Mr. and Mrs. Charlie SHIELDS, a boy.
CROWN POINT - Mr. and Mrs. Lee HOBBS are the proud parents of a baby boy, born June 9.
KELLERTON - Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn JACKSON are the proud parents of a littel son, born June 18, weight, eight pounds. The little one has been
named Hurbert Ray.
